All ECHOsi Programs are guided by the three principles on which ECHOstore stands for: Nurturing and sustaining the Self, the Community and the Planet. All programs are guided by ethical and ecological values critical to the environment, and supportive of gender-sensitive issues. These are run through short-term mentoring and critique workshops, lectures, sustainable and organic tours, hands-on community experiences and international lecture exchanges presenting best global practices.

Designing for Development

EdL are workshops founded on the framework of designing for development. This focuses on sustainable design, material and resource identification for product development and enhancement, innovation, differentiation for specific markets, product packaging and branding. This program develops and enhances community products with visual appeal not only for the local market but also the fair trade global market. Indigenous people’s cultural expressions are kept intact without corrupting their local cultures. EdL’s directions includes the creation of recycled construction materials made from post-consumer and industrial wastes.

This program will have a network of members who are professional designers, graphic artists, stylists and other creative people. They are partnered with marginalized or indigenous communities to study products and items, and to help refine design, product development, visual identity and packaging. EdL the central clearing space for any requests from organizations, NGOs and other social enterprise groups involved in livelihood product development who need such help.

Teaching the Sustainable Lifestyle

ECHOteach Programs are diverse in that they reach out to all stakeholders in sharing and teaching what can create sustainability. To the communities: programs on enterprise development, business advisory and entrepreneurship mentoring, market trends and access. To the general public: the need to teach the impact of economic choices in order to change behavior and consumption habits towards being conscious consumers. Under ECHOteach come topics for the sustainable lifestyle such as wellness and natural therapies, organic farming and sustainable agriculture; sustainable green architecture, urban design, landscape and interior design; as well as business development services such as marketing, branding and communications.

Talking the Sustainable Walk

Members of the sustainable community share experiences of what they have learned as they try to live a sustainable lifestyle. Experiences are shared through fora and conferences formed to disseminate "ideas on sustainability." This will be offered to schools and social networks for dissemination online.

The GREAT Women Program is a convergence of national and local government agencies, women’s groups and private sector groups resulting in improving local business policy, projects and services for women businesses. GREAT Women also known as Gender Responsive Economic Actions for the Transformation of Women is an integrated platform to address gender issues in both micro and social enterprise development and deliver a truly inclusive economic development.

ECHOsi is committed to the documentation and information dissemination of best practices, case studies and design outputs from its programs and activities in all forms of media such as audio visuals, printed publications, digital media and social media.
